NACAC National College Fair

Attention IA Juniors:

   The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is hosting a HUGE College Fair on March 22. 202 different colleges, universities, and institutions will be there. We have 45 spots available on the bus! Cost is $35 per student. You will have to be at IA by 8am on March 22nd. We will be back to IA no later than 1:30pm. Reserve your spot TODAY by paying the $35 fee on OSP! A signed permission slip (available in the counseling office) is also required by February 27th. Gifted TAG Career Internship Program

The Gifted TAG Career Internship program is designed to provide students the opportunity to explore potential career interest by working with professionals in the community. Reach out to Mr. Brown or Ms. Rosner for more information about the internships and about the required Hire Me class you must take before you can take a TAG internship. Sign-ups for Hire Me will be posted to Teams in January.

Doodle for Google 

Doodle for Google is an annual contest where Google invites students in grades K-12 to express their creativity by drawing their very own Google Doodle in response to a prompt. The winning Doodle will be displayed on the  Google homepage for 24 hours. There is a $30,000 scholarship for the national winner. The four finalists receive a $5,000 scholarship. For information on the prompt and how to enter the competition, visit their website: https://doodles.google.com/d4g/. Due date is March 7th, 2023.

American Legion Auxiliary Girls State

Female high school students who have completed their junior year are competitively selected and sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary units for this program, where they learn about the political process by electing officials for all levels of state government and actively running a mock government. The girls are assigned to mock cities and either the “Federalist Party” or “Nationalist Party.” Georgia ALA Girls State is being held in Valdosta, GA from June 11 - 16, 2023. 2023 AOPA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Made possible through donations to the AOPA Foundation, the more than $1 million in scholarships for pilot training are a major benefit of AOPA membership, helping members reach their aviation goals.

  • Scholarship applications open Sept. 5, 2022, with awards ranging from $2,500 to $14,000 for primary flight training, advanced ratings/certificates, and aviation maintenance.

  • Open to AOPA members that are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent legal residents

  • Some scholarships also require applicants to meet additional criteria. Applicants typically need to be at least 16-years-old to apply.

  • Scholarship applications will close February 10, 2023, at 11:59 EDT.

TheDream.US Scholarships - The Dream.US offers undergraduate scholarships for highly motivated undocumented DREAMers in high school or college.

APIA Scholars APIA Scholars offers awards to qualified students of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage. Applications close on January 19, 2023.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation - JRF offers scholarships and leadership development to minority students. Applications close on January 11, 2023. 

Ron Brown Scholar Program - The Ron Brown Scholar Program offered to African American high school seniors, this scholarship focuses on leadership and civic engagement. Applications close on January 9, 2023.
