Emory LEADS Experience

The Emory LEADs Experience is designed to support the recruitment of talented, high-achieving high school seniors who are either first-generation college students and/or from underrepresented cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds, including, but not limited to, Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic, and Native/Indigenous student populations. U.S. Senate Youth Program

The United States Senate unanimously passed a resolution in 1962 creating the UNITED STATES SENATE YOUTH PROGRAM (USSYP), a national nonpartisan initiative to provide an annual opportunity for talented high school students with demonstrated leadership abilities to deepen their understanding of America’s political processes and strengthen their resolve to pursue careers in public service.

The 2024 U.S. Senate Youth Program application window is open from August 1 to September 29. High school juniors or seniors may apply provided they meet all program qualifications as outlined by the U.S. Senate Youth Program. The application, program criteria, and informational brochures are found on the Excellence Recognitions USSYP webpage at www.gadoe.org/USSYP. Applications are due by September 29 at 5:00 p.m

2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

The 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program nomination window is open from September 1 to November 1. Any high school senior may complete the application, provided they meet all program qualifications outlined by the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The student informational brochure includes information on the application criteria and the two required essays. The application, program criteria, and informational brochure for this recognition program are on the Excellence Recognitions USPS webpage. Applications are due by November 1 at 5:00 p.m.
